Silt Fencing

Citywide and Macedon Fencing install silt / erosion fencing to control and contain sediment and debris. The material generally used in this application is a filter type fabric - geotextile, made out of a woven material which is installed approximately 150mm below ground level and approx 600mm above ground, it is normally secured with timber pegs or star pickets. This technique is generally used on the larger or civil projects. For residential lots where silt barriers are required by law when constructing a new home, we offer the option of silt socks to contain sediment and debris. These silt socks are approximately 150mm diameter and are placed along the front of the construction site.
